Gyroscope and Climbing

How was todays activity for you? Where you and your group able to accomplish the task? How does this activity connect to us and climbing?

  1. The activity today was challenging. My group mostly pondered some ideas but never actually accomplished the task. I enjoyed watching other groups and trying to figure out different ways to accomplish the task. This relates to climbing because our goals for the day will always be possible but we might have to put a little more mental effort.

  2. well the activity was kind of hard.. but if you and your group work together then you could come up with so many ideas. i loved yesterdays activity we acually wanted to keep doing it on tuesday. it was great beacuse me and my group came up with so many different ideas. we also were the first on to finish it beacuse you just have to work on it really hard and trust eachother. also i think this does have to do with clibing beacuse if you trust you group then you could trust them on not letting you fall when you are climbing. Also i like the way Mr.H let us pick our group now we could trust eachother in alot more ways and get along with everyone in our class.

  3. I loved this activity. I think our group was great at thinking about the task in really creative ways and I know that a huge part of that is that we are all friends. I wish we did activities like this more often and I am so excited to climb with my new group!

  4. IT WAS SO SCARY. T-T but we did it. :) I seriously wanted to run away at first because I don't like... being flipped upside down... especially when I'm holding a cup of water. O.O Yeah, I was really scared, but I was alive in the end because my group did a great job supporting & stuff. :)

  5. Fridays activity was really difficult and my group wasn't able to complete it. We didn't even try to attempt it. I think we could have done it if we put effort into it. this relates to climbing because it's not always going to be easy, some things are
going to take hard work and lots of thinking.

  6. I think this activity was REALLY different. I have never done an activity like this before. My group really didn't get the chance to accomplish the task but we for sure wanted to try again so we could get it done. Watching everyone else complete the task in there own ways was cool to watch too. I'm excited about our new groups and I think this activity showed people's own strengths and weaknesses.

  7. This activity was really fun and I'm happy that our group was able to do it. I wasn't scared at all to do it myself, but when I had to help the other person get around, I was really scared because I didn't think I was strong enough.

  8. I think that this was an easy activity. It wasn't hard because I was comfortable with the people that was in my group. This is going to help us with climbing in order to trust people more. It was kinda fun for once.

  9. The task was very challenging. Our group came up with several ideas, but were not sure how to put them in action. It was interesting to see how other groups went about in completing the task. Hopefully, if we continue this activity tomorrow, we will have more practical strategies and succeed.

  10. I enjoyed the activity because it was challenging but you needed to be incredibly light hearted. it was fun my group did very well and i would like to do it again on tuesday if we could! I like that we have the groups we were able to pick ourselves, even though i miss the adventure of getting new climbing groups that we don't get to pick. both are fun, i think now we'll be able to move faster and try more things now that people were able to pick their groups.

  13. I really liked this activity because it was a little bit crazy and we all got to unleash our creative thinking powers a little bit. I really liked working with my new group - I think this activity is a little preview to how well we're going to all be able to climb together :)

  15. It was a fun activity. My group was able to to do it one way but not the other. This activity relates to climbing because we had to trust each member in the group in order to do this activity, just like we have to trust each other when we climb.

  16. It was extremely fun and hilarious to watch too! My group was very successful because we ended up coming up with 2 completely different ways of getting it done. We worked really well together and were supportive of each other. The activity related because in both situations, we have to perservere, trust each other, and work as a team instead of an individual.

  17. Well, I wasn't here for this activity, I can't honestly figure out what everyone else did from reading the comments. All I got was water, flipping, and gyroscope. Sounds interesting. Anyways, if I had to guess, I would say that this activity was good for our cooperation skills, and relates to climbing in that we trust each other and have to work as a team, etc.

  18. This seemed like a really difficult activity when you first explained it, but once we saw a few other groups do it i think my group got more confident and tried a few more creative options. This relates to climbing because we had to trust eachother and think of creative ways to do things, like when you go up the wall the way to get up isnt always clear but then once you keep trying youll figure it out. I realy liked this activity and i hope we can try it again.

  19. This activity seemed fun, but really challenging at the same time. My group didn't even try ideas, but we did think of some. It was fun to watch other groups accomplish the task though. This relates to climbing in that we're going to come across some obstacles that are hard, but if you don't at least try it, you're never going to accomplish it.

  21. I thought this activity was a lot of fun! We had to communicate ideas and put them into action. You have to trust yourself and your group( especially when you're upside down in the air). It showed me that my group has my back and listens to my ideas and they value my contributions.

  23. This activity was much different than other things we have done and it was also really hard. My group didn't get a chance to accomplish it but it was fun experimenting and trying out new ideas. It connects to climbing because you need to use your imagination and trust your group members and yourself.

  24. i thought this was a good challenging activity that got us to learn to trust the new people in our climbing group. my group did accomplish the task and it was a fun activity. this activity reminded us that we need to stay focused when we climb because we had to stay focused to flip the person.

  25. I thought this activity was a little frustrating. Nobody in my group really wanted to be the one flipped in fear of being dropped on their heads. Then having water in the cup did not make the situation any better. Of all the activities we've done in class, I hated this one the most. And quite frankly, I do not think you should repeat it next year. Instead, do the "jumping over the imaginary electrice fence" one. Those are better, and the task actually gets accomplished.
