Clim On!

After getting a chance to climb and belay, as well as back up belay, what are your concerns and or questions as we move forward with this activity?

  1. If me somehow falling from the ceiling and breaking my spine doesn't kill me, then getting up on the beam, looking down, and having a heart attack will. Nah, climbing stuff is fun, and we all seem to have the belaying technique down pretty well.

  3. Hm.. No questions, but I am a little scared to climb the wall. I didn't climb on Friday, so I'll probably go on Monday ? Unless.. it's fitness. I don't know. I'm scared. :(

  6. I dont have any questions. I'm excited to start climbing and having a good time with everyone. We all have the techinque and knot tieing down so I think it'll be a good time! Hopefully I'll be able to make it to the top, it's soo scary all the way up there. It doesn't seem high from the ground but once I got up there it was a different story..

  7. When I first did belay r back up belay or anchor, I was nervous if I could hold them up when they fell. But it was easier than I thought. My main concern right now is to not scare out of going all the way up on the beam.

  8. Climbing was fun, but I agree with Moeko, my main concern is getting all the way up on that beam. It seems a little scary but hopefully I will overcome my fear.

  11. I am nervous that if I start climbing I won't realize how high uo I am, then when it's time to come down I will freak out. Also I am really nervous that I am going to screw up belaying. I really don't want someone else to get hurt because of me.

  12. p.s. you spelled 'climb' wrong...

  13. I think climbing is so scary! Well maybe its just really hard for me because i have tiny hands and short arms, which make it hard to hold on to the "rocks" and reach up to grab higher ones. I definitely trust the belayers to catch us and keep us from hitting the ground, but i need to work on trusting myself enough to climb.

  15. I didnt climb on friday, but im excited to try it this week! Im a bit nervous about belaying people because i didnt really belay many people during repeling and dont want to make a mistake that could risk someones life.

  17. I am sooo excited about climbing. I would really like to learn to get over the protruding rocks on some of the walls. I can't wait to get up on the beam. Yes, I am a little scared, but I feel that our group is getting a good hang of the whole belay system.

  18. I am really happy that we are finally starting to climb. I am scared that I won't be able to catch someone or something. I mean, I am sure I won't let anyone fall, but my arms get tired really quickly. Guess I will just have to work those arm muscles.

  19. Climbing was really fun! I can't wait to start climbing to the top. But it is kind of scary. It's hard to trust people to catch you if you fall. What if they're no paying attention or something? Other than that... I really like climbing.

  20. I liked climbing much more than repelling! I think that as long as we all stay focused and trust each other, then we will have a lot of success with climbing as a class.

  21. Climbing seems really fun. I'm excited to try all of the different stations, but I always get really nervous to try things. Once I get over that I think things will be okay.

  22. well so far i have no questions and all i need to say is that nobody should be scared only that you should try to have fun..and im the scardy cat in the class but the climbing part is good so far and i havn't been scared i actually had fun the first time i went up there as in matter of fact i was the first one to climb in my group, and it was lots of fun!!! CAN'T WAIT FOR US TO MOVE AROUND SO WE CAN HAVE SOME REAL FUN CAN'T WAIT!!
and dont for get trusting our class mates is a very important thing..

  23. I really enjoy climbing, and coming back down is fun too! The only part that I'm nervous for is the different walls. I don't think I have enough arm muscle to climb some of them. Rappelling is fairly easy once you get the hang of it.

  24. i really like climbing and baleying, and i think everyone is starting to get the hang of it as we actually do the climbing rather than just repel because we see the application of what we learned.

  25. i love climbing. a lot. It's much more of a challenge than rappelling was, and i feel more like I actually accomplished something at the top. But yeah, I'm pretty confident in my climbing/ belaying skills, but I think its super important that we don't rush anything and that we make sure everything is done right before we let people go up the wall. All the walls/ladders are a lot higher than when we were rappelling, so safety is even more important.

  27. I'm really excited to keep climbing and do all this stuff more. I didn't get to climb Friday because I was gone but tuesday I climbed to the platform to the beM then jumped down. it was the most exhilirating thing I've ever done. I don't really have any concerns, I trust my group and I'm excited to getting closer!

  28. I'm scared of heights so I really wasn't looking forward to this activity. The first wall was hard, but afterwards, everything seemed to dawn much more easily. I realized that as long as I didn't look down, I could make it to the top. I still can't wait until we don't have to climb such significant heights, but until then, I can handle it.

  29. Oh, and by the way, you spelled CLIMB ON incorrectly, h.

  30. It was actually a lot harder than i expected it to be. You need a lot of strength and agility to be able to climb some of those walls and they are really difficult. It was a little scary at first belaying and knowing that the persons fate was in your hands, but once you do it once you see that it is not that hard to belay. I really like climbing and hope to get better at it.

  31. Climbing with my team is vnothing. They make sure I feel safe before climbing. They cheer me on and it motivate me to keep going. Belaying was hard the first couple of time but I got the drift of it and now I do fine.
