How is rappelling going?
After 3 days of rappelling, how is the experience as a rappeller, belayer, onlooker? Remember during this unit the expectation is for you to rappel at least 8 times. 2 to 3 times the regular way showing me you understand the technique, 1 or 2 times going upside down and recovering, 2 or 3 times jumping off the wall army style, and 1 or 2 times going down face forward.

Rapelling so far looks easy being a belayer, back up balayer, or fireman belayer, but i can tell its hard from the people in my group who have gone so far. im a little nervous to go but really excited.

The main concern I have right now with rappelling is whether or not our group knows how to set everything up correctly.

Rappelling was a lot easier than i thought it would be and it really wasn't too scary. i've only been a backup belayer because we were missing people from our group.

When it was my turn to repel, I got really really nervous. However, my group was very helpful and made it easy for me to repel. Next time though, when I I repel, I need to keep my legs straight.

i think everything so far is easy enough, just the process goes very slowly. i think that's the biggest challenge right now- at least in my group.

I don't really have any concerns because I trust my group and i have faith in the way we set things up. It was scary rapellign the first time but my group helped me and all the other jobs are fun but you have to stay focused so it can be done correctly. I like rapelling its a fun time.

The set up, belaying, anything that isn't the actual rappelling is kind of boring, but that's the price we pay for getting a turn to rappel. As for the actual rappelling, I didn't think that was scary at all, but I think it'll be a lot more nerve-wracking going down upside down and head first and things like that. I'm excited :)

I haven't rappelled yet but as a belayer, back-up belayer, and anchor, it doesn't seem so bad.I'm a little scared of heights but i trust my group.

I learnt a lot from being back up belayer, anchor, and fireman belayer. I was initially hesitant to rappel. The hardest part for me was
ReplyDeleteletting go of the bar on the shelf. Once I did that, it was very smooth. I actually enjoyed doing it!

The set up is still a bit confusing to me but being the rappeller, belayer, onlooker is a lot of fun. Rapelling is a lot scarier than I thought it would be, but over all, it was fun.

The set up is still a little bit confusing. As a belayer, I know I wont let anyone fall, but I'm uneasy when it comes to me being the rappeller.

I enjoyed rappelling and it as an onlooker, it looks really cool watching people rappel. As a belayer, it's just a big responsibility, but not hard if you do it correctly. I'm excited to learn new ways to rappel!

i think this is going good just need to work harder and i need to trust myself even more!!! can wait for today!!!

the repelling is going good. it is not so bad once you have done it. when i do it again i now know what to expect. being a belayer you realize how much responsibility you have and watching others is fun.

I haven't rappelled yet and I'm freaking scared to. I'm probably going to have a difficult time, but I hope I won't be too scared to try it. From watching other people in my group, it seems like it just takes a few seconds. I hope I won't take 10 minutes.
ReplyDeleteRappeling was really fun, and it was much easier than I expected. I was sort of nervous because I was the first one to go in my group and we weren't that used to the setup, but I'm completely fine with rappeling now, and I'm excited to rappel upside down and stuff!
ReplyDeleteMoeko K
rappelling was fun but really scary at first. letting go of the railing was the most difficult. belaying isn't too hard and I like doing it. I can't wait to try all that other stuff!!
ReplyDeleteKristin S.
Rappelling is really fun! I thought it looked pretty easy when i watched other people do it, but once i got up there it was really scary. letting go was definitely the hardest part. once you let go, the way down was pretty easy. I can't wait to do it again.

It was pretty exciting to repel but it turned out to be a bit scarier than I thought it would be.. I was hesitant to lean back because you feel like your going to fall, but once you do that part it's not that bad/scary.
ReplyDeleteKristin Prislinger
i was pretty scared my first time going down but i think once i do it again ill be more comfortable... im not to sure about going down updide-down though

I love this!! I am absolutly obsessed with reppelling. It makes my day getting up on that wall and then jumping off. This has opened a completely new door for me because I am not usually a thrill seeker but this is a blast.

My group and I realize that not all the jobs are as exciting as repelling, but we respect each other on what the other wanted to do. This subtle exchange is helping me build trust in my group.
ReplyDeleteAnna
I'm enjoying repelling a lot! I think everyone in my group is doing a great job and we are getting more comfortable with each other. I'm really excited to repel face forward :]
ReplyDeleteMia
i am absolutely terrified of heights so repelling is not my thing
ReplyDeleteBecca
I am finally not scared to repel the regular way. I have gone upside down and have jumped on the wall. I heard that it hurts to go face forward so I don't think I'm going to do that. Kayla Aeschliman
