Stepping Stones

Give us your reaction to our activity on Thursday (Stepping Stones), keep in mind the 3 principles we are working on (Respect, Responsibility, and Trust). Be as specific as you can in your insights.

  1. I thought the activity was a lot of fun and beneficial to the class. We had to respect the abilities of others in the group and work around that. we also had the responsibility of doing our own part, whether it be passing a square up or placing it down. And of course, the grouop had to trust each other. sometimes a groupmember would nearly fall over, so others had to help. without trust, the person would have fallen.

  2. i thought the activity was good because we had to work together and listen to each others ideas. it was also good that if you lost a carpet because somone did not step on it the group didn't yell at the person and be like good going for loosing a carpet, it was more like oh well how do we work around it. we also had to trust the other group members to help with balance so no one would fall.

  4. i think it was fun and team building. we had to trust our teamates to hold onto us while we were sharing stepping stones and also be responsible with how we handle the stepping stones.

  5. We all had to really build our trust with each other and learn how to take responsibility. I thought it was really interesting to see how everyone treated the activity because everyone's real personality came out. For example, a lot of people were really trying to help out other people while a few were just not taking it seriously, getting upset, or blaming others when things didnt go as planned.

  6. The activity was hard and we didn't finish going back, but we were saying that we could've done it if we had more time, so we had trust in our group to be able to do it. Also, I realized that whether people trust you or not depends on how you're acting. For example, some people didn't care at all about what was going on, so we couldn't trust those people as much as those that were helping out.

  7. I think this activity was fun and sucessful. I think most of us had played this before in elementary school, and used that previous knowledge to help us on Thursday. I think all the teams worked well and communicated with each other, and that was the point of the whole thing.

  8. I thought the activity was really good and helped us to start communicating with eachother and trusting eachother. Most of the teams did a good job participating and following diresctions, with falls under the respect category. Overall, I thought it was successful.

  9. I thought the activity was fun, and helped us get to know each other better. Especially since most of the time we had to be talking, touching, and helping each other. All of that really is the basis of respect, listening and helping each other out. We didn't have many squares to work with and some times two people had to be on one tile. We had to trust one another to hold each other up and not let the other fall. We had to take responsibility for one another. Everyone had to help everyone, especially when it came to transferring tiles from one end to the other. I think this was a great way to really team build, and get our class closer together.

  10. I really enjoyed this activity and it was fun. In our group we got to communicate with each other while trusting each other by helping each other out and grabbing our hands to help us not to fall. We respected each others ideas and abilities. Lastly, we showed responsibility by having everyone do their own part to the activity. It might of been passing the stones up, helping others out, or placing the stones on the ground.

  11. The activity was funfunfun, even though I lost my hands and I made the team lose one of the "stepping stones". I liked how I was able to identify who had good leadership and such. Also, it was obvious that we trusted each other because we held onto each other when we thought we were gonna fall. It was a great way to build stronger connection within the class.

  12. I thought this activity was a really good way to show us that without trust, things fall apart. Also, keeping an open mind makes a huge difference because things can get done faster and easier. Also, just listening to other peoples' ideas shows that we have respect for eachother. For responsibility, that was shown by doing your part to help out the team. I liked this activity and i thought it was a lot of fun. It makes me think back on how much different playing that game was in elementary school compared to junior year in high school.

  13. We used the three principles of respect, responsibility, and trust. It was fun and pretty easy because i played the same game in grade school.

  14. This activity seemed pretty easy when Mr H was first explaining and i think at first we all thought it would just be a blow off activity, but it actually took a lot of teamwork and thinking to get the task completed. Even though it took a lot of thinking it was still a pretty fun activity. It got us to all work together as a team, you couldnt do this on your own.It really helped me to build more trust with some of my classmates.

  15. Stepping Stones has been more of a challenging activity we have done so far. I think it was a good way for everyone to contribute and help eachother. It sounded way easier than it actually was.

  16. I thought this activity really focused on teamwork, without cooperation, the stepping stones activity would have been a fail. Since the activity was successful, it is evident that teamwork was involved because everyone contributed ideas on how to make the challenge a success.

  17. I liked this activity because it really made us think about those three values. Without responsibility, respect, and trust, nothing could get accomplished.

  18. I wasn't here that day, but I've played that game in elementary school..By reading some of the comments in class, it seemed that our class was pretty respectful of everyone and worked together. Good job =]

  19. This activity was a classic example of teamwork. There were some spots, where I really had to really on my teammates to hold me up. Our group did a good job of listening to one another, and helping each other get across to the other side.

  20. I thought it was a good way for the class to work together and count on one another. The activity couldnt be completed if we did not work together.

  21. i thought it was a good activity, and working together made us need to rely on others. i think this developed our cooperation skills. also i think we learned about the way different ideas can work together.

  22. I think the activity was good way to practice respect, responsibilty, and trust because it couldn't have been successfully completed without applying the principles.

  23. I thought it was pretty successful as to fulfilling the 3 principles. We respected each other's ideas. We kept our responsibility in mind, especially the first and the last person since they had to make sure that they kept in contact with the carpet. Trust was earned from one another because we had to have faith in each other to keep us from falling.

  24. I liked the fact that while we were doing this I had to rely on people I would normally never ask for help, and I liked that they let me rely on them. It shows that I can trust a lot more people in this class than I thought.

  25. this activity highlighted all 3 points because we respected each other when we listened to each other's thoughts. we were open minded when we used our imagination to create the 'lava.' we were responsible because we kept not only ourselves but also the people and the carpets around us safe.
